Holiday Homeschooling with Unit Studies

Before you know it, the holiday season will be here. Have you considered how you'll combine homeschooling with the holidays? The easiest way, in our opinion, is to embrace holiday homeschooling with unit studies!

Often the holidays are a season that we look forward to arriving. However, their beauty seems to diminish as our schedules grow busier with the arrival of the holiday season. Add in homeschooling to the mix and it can be near impossible for some of us to keep up.

Yet, holiday homeschooling doesn't have to add to our stress, in fact, it can diminish it if we plan accordingly.

Everyone's planning method looks and works differently. After all, flexibility is the beauty of homeschooling, right?

It may seem silly to be considering holiday homeschool plans in advance, especially for those of you that don't typically put together formal plans. Still, having ideas to make holiday homeschooling enjoyable for your kids and easy for you is important to a less stressful holiday season.

Many homeschoolers take breaks throughout the holiday season. Others incorporate the holiday season into their homeschooling. Some continue their homeschooling journey as usual.

As homeschoolers, you have the opportunity to teach your children about things as they are happening. You don't have to follow a specific schedule or use your curriculum just as it is written. Freedom and flexibility are your best friends as a homeschooler.

Embracing the holidays and incorporating them into your homeschooling journey can be a lot of fun for your kids and easy for you.

Holiday Homeschooling with Unit Studies Made Easy

Unit studies make homeschooling easier any time of the year. During the busy holiday season, they truly are a lifesaver.

Learning about the lives of the Pilgrims and the Christmas holiday are best studied during the holiday season. Why? It gives your children the opportunity to learn about the history and celebrations of the season as it is happening around them.

Perhaps your homeschool curriculum already includes a lesson or two about these holidays? Why would a unit study be a better fit for your family? A unit study is completely focused on a given topic. That means that not only do the lessons cover the topic but the crafts, activities, literature, etc. do as well.

While you can put together your own unit studies, holiday homeschooling with unit studies is easiest when someone else has done that work for you.

Many homeschool families love the Homeschool Complete Curriculum because we offer full lesson plans as part of our extensive teacher's manuals, as well as student workbooks, literature and skill lists and much more.
